The mechanical auto-reverse is a pressure-sensitive system built into your garage door opener. When the door encounters resistance while closing.such as hitting an object.it should immediately stop and reverse direction. How to Test Your Mechanical Auto-Reverse:
1. Place a 2x4 wooden board flat on the ground in the center of your garage door opening 2. Close the garage door using your remote or wall button 3. The door should reverse immediately upon touching the board 4. If the door doesn't reverse, or if it takes more than 2 seconds to reverse, your opener needs adjustment or repair

The photoelectric sensors are the small devices mounted on each side of your garage door, about 6 inches from the ground. One sensor emits an invisible infrared beam, while the other receives it. When anything breaks this beam while the door is closing, the door immediately stops and reverses.
How to Test Your Safety Sensors:
1. Start with the garage door open 2. Press the close button on your remote or wall panel 3. As the door begins to close, wave a broom or similar object through the sensor beam 4. The door should immediately stop and reverse 5. Check that the sensor lights are properly illuminated (typically green when aligned)
